Metastases to the liver

metastases to the liver

(Science: oncology) The spread of cancerous tumours from a distant organ to the liver. Due to the livers tremendous blood and lymphatic supply it is a frequent site for metastatic cancer. Cancers which commonly metastasize to the liver include colon cancer, breast cancer, neuroblastoma, lung cancer and hodgkin's disease.
