Marker chromosome

An abnormal chromosome that is distinctive in appearance but not fully identified. For example, the fragile x chromosome was once called the marker x.

now I meet some trouble.I know a gene locate a chromosome,and the chromosome have the only one gene.the chromosome length is about ... to set genetic experiment because there isn't the any tother phenotypic marker in the chromosome .the unique gene is the unknow gene.and the gene dominate ...

... of the first steps... it can give you a good idea of what arm of what chromosome a gene is located at .... once you know that ... you can then see if "your favorite gene" segregates with markers (on the chromosome of the arm that you've already identified)... and ...
