Yeah, the" borer "could be any kind of wood-eating insect...The longhorned beelte's larva is called "trees destroyer" in china :) Uff-f-f-f! It is very strong name! but beetle from your pic not seems longhorn beetle - he has eyes not tipicaly ...

Longhorn? Why? There is some athere families of beetls that feed on trees tranks.

By th way,I don't scare the grubs or the larva of longhorn beetle, though they are fat and soft.... I scare the worms which always shrink their head in to their bodies, and have many short legs even no legs....such as maggots and larva of moth. butterfly ...

... costa rica, guam, and other small prestine tropical areas that are going to be extinct because of deforistation(sp). I know there are all sorts of longhorn beetles and katydids that won't be around in 2006 because of deforrestation.
