Dictionary » L » Lipoprotein LipoproteinLipoprotein (Science: biochemistry) An important class of serum proteins in which a spherical hydrophobic core of triglycerides or cholesterol esters surrounded by an amphipathic monolayer of phospholipids, cholesterol and apolipoproteins. Classified according to density: chylomicrons, large low density particles, very low density, low density and high density species. Important in lipid transport, especially cholesterol transport in the blood stream. Abnormalities in lipoprotein metabolism have been implicated in certain heart diseases. ![]()

Results from our forumBio Research Paper Writing... and CMV infected elderly individuals without alzheimers; the data shows that CMV-infected elderly individuals with a certain allele of a lipoprotein (apolilipoprotein E allele type 4) are at a much higher risk of getting Alzheimer’s than CMV-infected individuals without the allele (Herpesvirus-Alzheimer’s ...

Re:... three amino acids belong to signal peptide (in reality it's much longer). In such case, you want your primer to start at GTC and go on further. By lipoprotein motif he probably meant whether is it homologous to lipoproteins (you know, good and bad cholesterol, HDLP, LDLP). I don't know whether ...

Sequencing question/primer design... gene sequence that is in frame (in frame as in the Open reading frame w/ ATG?) and removes the signal peptide. Additionally, does XXX gene have a lipoprotein motif? I'm not sure what he is referring to in that question. I know a signal peptide is attached to protein to transport it to where it ...

Re: cholesterol problem!easy please help! "Bad" cholesterol ist also called "HDL" (high density lipoprotein) und "good" is used for "LDL" (low density lipoprotein Aehm, it's the other way round: LDL = "bad" HDL = "good" Sry, again :-/ Shame ...
