Limb bud

The limbs of vertebrates start as outpushings of mesenchyme surrounded by a simple epithelium. The distal region is referred to as the progress zone. There has been extensive study of positional information within the limb bud that determines, for example: the proximal distal pattern of bone development and the anterior posterior specification of digits.

Mapd I think you are mixing Pdt Lmbs with Opposing Thumbs, which would make a very interesting study.

Pentadactyl limbs is a common feature found in tetrapods. The class amphibian, reptile, aves (birds), and mammals fall under this superclass tetrapods. The order primates fall under the class mammalia (mammals). So primates are mammals and they are Pentadactyl.
