Laser treatment for hair loss (Not an Ad)

Not that I have a problem with hair loss, but I came across a web site claiming that 560nm laser light could stimulate hair growth. I do not understand how this could work, and do not believe it. Is this possible? If no, why? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baldness_treatments#Low-level_laser_therapy
