Ldh --> lactic dehydrogenase

(Science: enzyme) The enzyme that catalyses the formation and removal of lactate according to the equation: pyruvate _ nadh = lactate nad.

(Science: cell culture) The appearance of lactic dehydrogenase in the medium is often usedas an indication of cell death and the release of cytoplasmic constituents.
