J-g complex

J-g complex --> juxtaglomerular complex

a complex consisting of the juxtaglomerular cells, which are modified smooth muscle cells in the wall of the afferent glomerular arteriole and sometimes also the efferent arteriole; extraglomerular mesangium lacis cells, which are located in the angle between the afferent and efferent glomerular arterioles; the macula densa of the distal convoluted tubule; and granular epithelial peripolar cells located at the angle of reflection of the parietal to the visceral capsule of the renal corpuscle; believed to provide some feedback control of extracellular fluid volume and glomerular filtration rate.

Synonym: j-g complex, juxtaglomerular apparatus.

Re: Structure of Chromosomes

... joining by hydrogen bonds qualifies the structure as a single molecule. By that reasoning you would always be looking at the vast number of single complex molecules that can be recognized as combinations of molecules. I think I recall reading Watson's DNA book and his specifically refering to DNA ...

living forever

as far as i understand the topic, aging (and then death as a consequence) is a programmed event, composed of complex regulatory pathways. That's why you can administer small molecule inhibitors such as rosveratrol and rapamycin which lengthen life-span and retard aging. This ...

Can a turtle and a frog breed?

... they could breed would be very small. There are multiple resons for this starting from simple phsyiological and behavioral differences to more complex elements such as chromosome numbers and genetics. One could perhaps get something done by genetic engineering, but even making a true hybrid ...
