I think that age plays a factor in the growth of wisdom teeth. You can have them as early as 17 or as late as 25. Some don't get them at all, while others have them, but they become impacted. Normally, they are removed because they can get rotten if food particles somehow ...

Wisdom Teeth

I've seen many people cite references that wisdom teeth are becoming less prevalent, and appeal to my "common knowledge" ... approximately 35% of people don't develop wisdom teeth at all or they are impacted (wrong direction / too crowded / whatever)... and I'm sure somewhere ...
