I band

(Science: cell biology) The isotropic band of the sarcomere of striated muscle, where only thin filaments are found. Unlike the a Band, the i band can vary in width depending upon the state of contraction of the muscle when fixed.

If you don't mind losing the flexibility of scanning the spectrum or rapidly changing ex/em bands, you would build a 2-band fluorescence colorimeter. You'd need two emission filters and one or two excitation filters, arranged around your cuvette so that the excitation ...

Those affecting size on SDS-PAGE would be mostly glycosylation or proteolysis, depending on the size of your band. Or the mobility of your protein is affected for some reason. Could you measure size of your protein on MALDI MS? sorry, but I do not know what MALSI MS is.

... signal is already present. If it is, you will probably need to use a blue-emitting and red-emitting fluor and cube sets that exclude the green band.

Western Blot

Western Blot

Hi BIologists, I have a question, how can we know about the size of protein in the western blot? I know the full lenght, but after WB, I am seeing band with a different size! Thanks for your help.
