(1) Excessive oxygen, elevated oxygen tension.

(2) Pertaining to, or suffering from hyperoxia.


Hyperoxic tissues may occur as a result of breathing molecular oxygen at higher partial pressures. The harmful effects of excessive presence of oxygen in tissues or organs are often seen on the CNS, lungs and eye.
