Results from our forumRe: Structure of ChromosomesThank you very much, Canalon. However, I do question your notion that DNA should be counted as two molecules. The joining by hydrogen bonds qualifies the structure as a single molecule. By that reasoning you would always be looking at the vast number of single complex molecules that ...

Structure of Chromosomes... separate DNA molecules. Your first explanation is correct but 1 double helix of DNA is strictly speaking composed of 2 DNA molecules attached by hydrogen bonds (and a lot of them)

maping and linkage problems... and why the following circumstances influence characteristics of temperature-induced DNA melting. a. Percentage of GC base pairs b. Urea (forms hydrogen bonds with bases) c. Sodium chloride (neutralizes negatively charged phosphates) Friends please help me out. i dont get any of those answers. ...

DNA question.actually the greater stability of GC base pairs is due mainly not to the fact that they have more hydrogen bonds, but due to more base stalking in the case of gc base pairs

DNA question.Perfect post by kolean, in terms of hydrogen bonding adenine and thymine are linked by 2 hydrogen bonds while guanine and cytosine are linked with 3 hydrogen bonds, thus the DNA strand with the greater ratio of CG will thus have more hydrogen ...
