(Science: anatomy) Resembling glass; vitriform; transparent; hyaline; as, the hyaloid membrane, a very delicate membrane inclosing the vitreous humor of the eye.

Origin: gr. Glassy, transparent; glass _ appearance: cf. F. Hyaloide.
