(Science: botany) a succulent plant of the genus Sempervivum (s. Tectorum), originally a native of subalpine Europe, but now found very generally on old walls and roofs. It is very tenacious of life under drought and heat.

Synonym: ayegreen.

Origin: house _ leek.
