Definition

noun, plural: hominins

(1) Any of the tribe Hominini of the family Hominidae of the order Primates.

(2) Any of the lineages of human beings, including the early human predecessors such as Homo erectus, Homo habilis, Homo neanderthalensis, and Australopithecus species.


Supplement

The distinctive features of hominins are their erect posture, bipedal movement, larger cranial capacity, and use of specialized tools.

... which no other animal understands. Technology then also refers to our ability to craft tools and since we have developed since our stone wielding Hominin ancestors, things such as drugs and medicine and harnessing electricity. I hope this has helped.
