Re: B-DNA and A-DNA

... humidity. She thought the A form was a potentially more interesting structure and wavered back and forth as to whether or not the A-form was helical, like the B-form clearly was. Franklin never received enough credit for her contributions.

... prokaryotes. It consists of a compact assembly or aggregate of flagellated bacterial cells, highly organized in a sphere, that swim in either helical or straight trajectories. The life cycle of ‘Candidatus Magnetoglobus multicellularis' is completely multicellular, in which one aggregate grows ...

how predict which aminoacid form secondary structure

... biopolymers such as proteins and nucleic acids. Secondary structure was predicted by using the programs PSIPRED and ALB. The residues predicted as helical are marked by H by PSIPRED and by H and & by ALB, and those predicted as -structural are marked by E by PSIPRED and by S and B by ALB.

coat structure in white bean seeds

Hi, while observing detached white bean testa in optical microscopy, I saw some long helical structures - seemingly included in thiny walled pipes (not sure of this) and roughly 20 µ large - laying onto the coat plane and assembled in branched bundles (jpeg attached). ...
