Results from our forumhow predict which aminoacid form secondary structure... biopolymers such as proteins and nucleic acids. Secondary structure was predicted by using the programs PSIPRED and ALB. The residues predicted as helical are marked by H by PSIPRED and by H and & by ALB, and those predicted as -structural are marked by E by PSIPRED and by S and B by ALB.

coat structure in white bean seedsHi, while observing detached white bean testa in optical microscopy, I saw some long helical structures - seemingly included in thiny walled pipes (not sure of this) and roughly 20 µ large - laying onto the coat plane and assembled in branched bundles (jpeg attached). ...

Re: Cell membrane targeting signals.... embedded in the membrane by hydrophobic regions that span the phospholipid bilayer. The membrane-spanning portions of these proteins are usually α-helical regions consisting of 20 to 25 hydrophobic amino acids. The formation of an α helix maximizes hydrogen bonding between the peptide bonds, and ...

DNA isolation after digestion with micrococcal nuclease... are small or weigh very little? d) if the two proteins have a molar ratio of 1:1 then they are very similar? nucleosome structures are alpha helical, and so are the majority of proteins, so does that have anything do do with this question?

Re: Gluten-free and Vaccines... the 33-mer gliadin peptide and its homologs from pertactin and the tyrosine phosphatase reveal that these peptides have strong type II polyproline helical character (fig. S2). In addition to reinforcing the proteolytic resistance of these peptides, the type II polyproline helical conformation is ...
