Heartworm --> dirofilaria immitis

a filarial parasite primarily of dogs but occurring also in foxes, wolves, and humans. The parasite is transmitted by mosquitoes.

... Hey, I saw that dirofilarial worm in my cheek the other night. I also heard it was the worm of racoons. I just thought it was from the dog heartworm. Anyway, thanks for the hyperlink.
