Harmotome

(Science: chemical) a hydrous silicate of alumina and baryta, occurring usually in white cruciform crystals; cross-stone.

a related mineral, called lime harmotome, and phillipsite, contains lime in Place of baryta.

Origin: gr. A joint _ to cut: cf. F. Harmotome.
