I didn't speculate as much about the speed of the decline as that it would be rather stepwise. At least locally, for some homogenous group.

Is thiamin (thiamine) amine or not?

I've read (exactly here ) that the name thiamine was changed to thiamin "after it was found it's not an amine." Thiamin does have a NH2 group, so why wouldn't it be amine? ChemSpider
