Goldfish

Goldfish

(Science: zoology) a small domesticated cyprinoid fish (Carassius auratus); so named from its colour. It is native of china, and is said to have been introduced into Europe in 1691. It is often kept as an ornament, in small ponds or glass globes. Many varieties are known.

Synonym: golden fish, and golden carp. See telescope fish, under telescope.

a California marine fish of an orange or red colour; the garibaldi.

Well I can't give a very good answer, but I used to have a fish pond (relatively deep) and the goldfish almost always stayed at the bottom - unless they came up to eat... maybe that is of some help? My guess: If the water at the top is the hottest (simple chemistry), then ...

Well, the x-axis is the independent, so what are you actively changing in the trials? the dependent is your measurement of how likely the goldfish is to attack the prey.

Here's one way, have your daphnia already in the tank, then dump in one goldfish. Record time between dumping and time for goldfish to approach it. Then repeat for dumping a group.
