Goiter

enlargement of the thyroid gland. A goiter is not cancerous. A goiter can be associated with normal, elevated (hyperthyroidism) or decreased (hypothyroidism) thyroid hormone levels in the blood.

Yes, iod helps us to avoid goiter by synthesize adequate thyroxin. But in this case, we need pure NaCl to make the physiological saline :wink:
