Gingivitis

(Science: pathology) inflammation of the gingivae. Gingivitis associated with bony changes is referred to as periodontitis.

Synonym: oulitis, ulitis. Inflammation of the gums.A disease caused by various micro-organisms that inflames the gums, and is usually caused by excess tooth decay.
