... and Stratagene, and possibly Qiagen. You can do better than DH5a. And you can also buy competent cells rather than make them yourself. The Giga format (NovaBlue Giga, for example) from Novagen works well for me.

im using qiagen giga kit to isolate my plasmid but am this time short of filter cartriges, is there any alternative to that.... can i use millipore filtration unit instead, havig a .22 micron membrane
