8. (Science: mechanics) a toothed wheel, or cogwheel; as, a spur gear, or a bevel gear; also, toothed wheels, collectively. An apparatus for performing a special function; gearing; as, the feed gear of a lathe.

plant electricity <An idea that probably wouldn't work>

... as bamboo grow so fast. it would be neat if we could put some thing on top of a stalk of bamboo for it to push against. And through a series of gears have it turn a generator to lessen or eliminate the amount of fuel burned. :? Like i said it probably wouldn't work :?
