cAMP 2nd Messenger Pathway and Experiments

... adenylyl cyclase activity, which increases agonist affinity for the hormone receptor. It interacts with GTP regulatory site to prohibit the GDP from binding. If ATP or GTP were eliminated from the reaction, it would not be able to produce any cAMP. GTP functions to activate the adenylyl ...

Re: Can you explain the Ras recruitment system?

... fused to the plasma membrane. My questions are: 1) is the cdc25-2 yRAS mutant already attached to the plasma membrane, even in the inactive GDP-associated form? 2) How can we tell what the switch is? Can't the bait interact with unindented proteins on the yeast cell membrane? Isn't this ...

G-binding proteins

... can work in dependence of GTP-binding. Thus, if they hydrolyse that slowly, they work longer. And on the other hand, when they hydrolyse GTP to GDP, they stop working and unless it's exchanged for new GTP, they are not active (= regulation).
