1. Origin: OF. Furnir, fornir, to furnish, finish, f. Fournir; akin to pr. Formir, furmir, fromir, to accomplish, satisfy, fr. OHG. Frumjan to further, execute, do, akin to E. Frame. See frame, and -ish.
