Forestiers disease



A rare disease characterized by bony growths along the sides of the vertebrae of the spine, calcification of the tendons, and tendinitis.


This condition mostly involves older men showing symptoms related to spine ossification of the anterior ligaments.

Also called:

  • Forestier's syndrome
  • Forestier-Ott syndrome
  • Forestier and Rotés-Querol syndrome
  • diffuse idiopathic skeletal hyperostosis (DISH).
