Fn-gelatinase

Definition

noun

Abbreviated form of fibronectin-gelatinase, a gelatinase that cleaves gelatin and fibronectin when activated.

Supplement

FN-gelatinase is a latent fragment component of the fibronectin. Fibronectin when cleaved produce fragments, such as FN-gelatinase. The latter becomes an active proteinase, degrading gelatin (and fibronectin).
