Dictionary » F » Fluorescein FluoresceinFluorescein (Science: chemical) Fluorophore commonly used in microscopy. fluorescein di acetate can be used as a vital stain or can be conjugated to proteins (particularly antibodies) using isothiocyanate. excitation is at 365nm and the emitted light is green yellow (450-490nm). The emission spectrum is ph sensitive and fluorescein can therefore be used to measure ph in intracellular compartments. ![]()

Results from our forumTwo-color in situ help... and couldn't figure out why. Typically I see people do in situ on slides, but I work with 96-well plates. I use the Perkin Elmer TSA plus kit (cy3/Fluorescein) for two colors. Two mRNA probes (one is Digoxigenin-labeled the other is Fluorescein labeled) were added to the sample and hybridized at ...

looking for dyes that won't stain cells... fluorescent dye that won't stain any part of my NIH-3T3 cells(a little endocytosis is OK) but is also soluble in water. So basically, rhodamine/fluorescein won't work because they do tend to get through the membrane of unhealthy cells. Some of the alexa dyes or Fluorescein-dextran on the other ...

Re: UNILATERAL red-green color blindness... mass) and OCT (like an MRI of the retina). If both of these tests were within normal limits, I guess the next step would have been FFA (fluorescein angiogram of the retina) and if ALL of these tests were within normal limits AND there was no progressive change to these tests over time, ...

How can I determine lysozyme activity?... The fluorescence increase can be measured using any spectrofluorometer, mini-fluorometer or fluorescence microplate reader that can detect fluorescein (Figure 2).

CMNB caged fluoresceinI am planning some work using CMNB caged fluorescein for some in-vivo injection and imaging. I've never used any caged fluorophore before and I was wondering if anyone has any advice with regards to its use. What kind of buffer would I want to ...
