Fibroblast

Definition

noun, plural: fibroblasts

Cell of connective tissue that produces and secretes fibers (e.g. collagens, reticular and elastic fibers) and other ground substance in order to maintain the extracellular matrix (especially during wound healing or tissue repair), and to provide a structural framework for many tissues.

They occur in various shapes, such as stellate, fusiform, and spindle-shaped.

Please help me identify this cell

... I want to guess from the histology books I looked over that it is a fibrocyte. I was told that the darker purple circles in the picture are fibroblast nuclei. Anyone thought about reprogram fibroblast to liver cells?

Maybe can use those core transcriptional regulators that expressed in liver cells? say overexpession of 10 factors together in liver stem cell culture medium?
