Fibreoptic endoscope

(Science: instrument) a flexible fibreoptic scope that is used to directly visualize the internal anatomy of a hollow organ. Fibreoptics technology uses thin strands of glass or plastic to transmit light (along their length through internal reflection) for imaging.
