plasmid extraction on 1.5% agarose gel

So I have two bands, the smaller that is around 8-9kb based on the marker ( my plasmids should be 8-9 kb), what is the upper band? Also I have three plasmids and I did this in a set of four replicates

protein extraction from fat breast tissue

I'd probably go for some sort of phenol-chloroform extraction which should effectively remove fats, but I'm not sure about how quantitative it is. But nowadays are available commercial kits. What about to check publications to see what others do?
