A form of competition wherein organisms indirectly compete with other organisms for resources by exploiting resources to limit the resources availability to other organisms.
An example of this competition is an organism depleting the amount of resources to limit the availability of these resources for other organisms.
Apart from exploitative competition, the other types of competitions based on mechanisms used are interference competition and apparent competition.
