Synonym: to equivocate, shuffle. See prevaricate.

... on the eye point: although a single photosensitive cell is a minute advantage(and i dont know who came up with the idea that it could help them to evade predators... it couldn't) such as maybe allowing the organism to detect their depth in water, this advantage may not be extremely advantageous ...
