A cyst on the skin which commonly forms when fragments of epidermal cells reach the dermis, resulting in a layer of squamous epithelial tissue producing keratin in the dermis


Supplement

Formation of epidermoid cysts is caused by trauma or surgery. The condition is also seen commonly on individuals with Garnder's syndrome.
