Re: parallel binding of miRNA with mRNA

... (parallel). I have never heard of a natural system making parallel complementary transcripts from opposite strands of an antiparallel DNA duplex. OK, there might be something new for us to learn about here. To reiterate Jack, "Source?"

miRNA:miRNA*?

... and you can unambiguously tell which strand is the guide strand. However, in some cases, in particular those for which both ends of the miRNA duplex have similar duplex stability, either the guide or the star strand can load into RISC, so you end up with a population of RISC that has some ...

Can RNA anneal to single stranded DNA?

sure it can anneal. You basically answered by yourself, because during transcription there is the duplex, the same for replication (RNA primer) or RNAi process. Also that's principle of some DNA chips

Sense effect of RNAi

Duplex can be formed by few ways: 1. RNA dependent RNA Polymerase (RdR) 2. Single strand folded to become double strand 3. Retrotransposon Depends on what kind of organism is it...

Sense effect of RNAi

If you are introducing a sense strand of mRNA into the cell, what would it bind to form a duplex, since the endogenous mRNA would also be in the sense direction? Unless there is double stranded contamination, which is one explanation...
