Codons are triplets, but what's a Singlet, Doublet, etc?... the program for any number of letters per codon, but thought I had better ask here in case there is a word that more specifically covers singlets, doublets, triplets, quartets, etc.. Any ideas?

Immunoassay kit 15-deoxy-delta 12,14-Prostaglandin J2... I want to use it for adipose tissue and I need it to homogenize but in which buffer. I try to do it in PBS but every samples was absolutly wrong (doublets completely bad and result concentration was also bad- to big). But standards and calibration curve were excellent.
