Doses

Dose

1. (Science: pharmacology) a quantity to be administered at one time, such as a specified amount of medication.

2. (Science: radiobiology) a general term denoting the quantity of radiation or energy absorbed. For special purposes it must be appropriately qualified. If unqualified, it refers to absorbed dose. Unit of absorbed dose is the rad. The si unit is the gray (1 gy = 1 j kg-1 = 100 R).

Quick question

... destroys alot of brain cells. How long would it take for the brain to regenerate cells? Also can medicine such as methylphenidate, in controlled doses, speed nuerogenesis up? And i heard OMEGA-3 fatty acids may help this.

Hi Rose, Try the coinjection experiment with the 5'-UTR oligo and the ATG oligo. If you are seeing the CE phenotype at reduced doses when the oligos are coinjected, that supports the hypothesis the the phenotype is due to knockdown of the targeted gene and not an off-target RNA. Only ...
