(Science: chemistry) a salt of disulphuric or pyrosulphuric acid; a pyrosulphate.

An acid salt of sulphuric acid, having only one equivalent of base to two of the acid.

Origin: Pref. Di- _ sulphate.

hair

Hair is curly or striaght depending on the number of disulphate bonds between the hair proteins. Curly hair has a greater number of links, wheras the fewer the links, the straighter the hair. Sorry if that doesn't help much...this infact, is not one ...
