Re: Meiosis = extreme confusion. Please help!... Daughter cells have half the number of chromosomes found in the original parent cell and with crossing over, are genetically different. Meiosis differs from mitosis primarily because there are two cell divisions in meiosis, resulting in cells with a haploid number of chromosomes.

Re: fatty acid synthesisKindly have a look at the points.... 1) Fatty Acid Synthase (FAS) enzyme is different in prokaryotes and eukaryotes. 2) Length of fatty acid differs 3) Site of synthesis is different (SER in major eukaryotes) 4) Transcription factors and many other genes regulate differently in both.
