Differential thermometer --> thermoscope

(Science: instrument, physics) An instrument for indicating changes of temperature without indicating the degree of heat by which it is affected; especially, an instrument contrived by count Rumford which, as modified by professor Leslie, was afterward called the differential thermometer.
