Diagnosis

The determination of the nature of a case of disease.

Origin: gr. Gnosis = knowledge Identifying the nature or cause of some phenomenon.Identification of a condition due to the symptoms which are expressed. A diagnosis also applies to taxonomic classification, where the characteristics of an organism are diagnosed to determine which taxonomic classification is suitable to them.
