An emblematic design, generally consisting of one or more figures with a motto, used apart from heraldic bearings to denote the historical situation, the ambition, or the desire of the person adopting it. See Cognizance. Improperly, an heraldic bearing. Knights-errant used to distinguish themselves by devices on their shields. (Addison) A banner with this strange device - excelsior. (Longfellow) 4. Anything fancifully conceived. 5. A spectacle or show. 6. Opinion; decision. Synonym: Contrivance, invention, design, scheme, project, stratagem, shift. device, Contrivance. Device implies more of inventive power, and contrivance more of skill and dexterity in execution. A device usually has reference to something worked out for exhibition or show; a contrivance usually respects the arrangement or disposition of things with reference to securing some end. Devices were worn by knights-errant on their shields; contrivances are generally used to promote the practical convenience of life. The word device is often used in a bad sense; as, a crafty device; contrivance is almost always used in a good sense; as, a useful contrivance. Origin: oe. Results from our forumRe: sterilization in microwave oven... but the steam is also climbing above 100C. There are temperature indicator tabs or tapes, which you can use to check this. There are also similar devices for disinfecting baby utensils, which is also similar to what I have described. It was not that long ago that baby utensils were boiled in water ...

Re: sterilization in microwave oven... in the super heated steam above a tray of water with a lid on top to capture the steam. I note that there are already baby utensil sterilisation devices you can put in the microwave which work as I have described. Still not happy then e-mail me, may by I will reply. Re: Cell counting question you don't do it for free, a researcher's time is valuable. that's why devices and automation in research exist, so whenever possible you can spend time doing creative experiments, not boring stuff that a monkey could do Well, that's the ideal situation, but ...

Cell counting question... and the thing has an incredibly high error rate anyway (which is why biologists don't really use the thing anymore, there are special devices that can count cells much more accurately).
