Desulfotomaculum

a genus of rod-shaped (straight or curved), anaerobic, chemoorganotrophic motile bacteria that stain gram-negative but have gram-positive cell walls. Found in soil, the rumen and elsewhere. The type species is desulfotomaculum nigrificans.
