Latin term for premolar tooth, a transitional tooth located between the canine and molar teeth.
Adult humans have a total of eight premolars: maxillary first premolar, maxillary second premolar, mandibular first premolar, and the mandibular second premolar.
Synonym: bicuspid tooth, dens bicuspidus.
