Dandelion

(Science: botany) a well-known plant of the genus taraxacum (t. Officinale, formerly called t. Dens-leonis and Leontodos taraxacum) bearing large, yellow, compound flowers, and deeply notched leaves.

Origin: f. Dent de lion lions tooth, fr. L. Dens tooth _ leo lion. See tooth, and lion.

Dandelion having very wide stem (see photo)

This dandelion stem is very wide (seems to be the width of eight typical dandelion stems attached side to side, and the flower is flattened). I wonder how unusual it is? P1010026.JPG
