Damson

a small oval plum of a blue colour, the fruit of a variety of the prunus domestica; called also damask plum.

Origin: oe. Damasin the damascus plum, fr. L. Damascenus. See Damascene.

Tree identification PLZ (photos)!

You are very lucky to have such a lovely Damson tree in your backyard. Damsons make excellent preserves and jams. Damson preserves with homemade pound cake was always my favorite desert growing up.
