Archaic term for hyaloplasm, the clear, fluid portion of the cytoplasm of cells.

Word origin: cyto- » Greek kyto- (container, receptacle, body) + -lymph » Latin lympha, (water nymph), from Greek numphē (young bride, water nymph).
