(Science: chemical) a direct-acting smooth muscle relaxant used to dilate blood vessels. It may cause gastrointestinal distress and tachycardia.

Pharmacological action: vasodilator agents.

chemical name: Benzeneacetic acid, alpha-hydroxy-, 3,3,5-trimethylcyclohexyl ester
